I would be so excited if Joy Reid and MeidasTouch started doing collaborations like Jim Acosta has been doing recently!

Well Watch or listen to Maddow, O’Donnell and Melber. These days Substack or BlueSky is the first place we go to “read” the news.

The MeidasTouch on YouTube is an excellent source of accurate information. Ben Meiselas does at least one video a day and he’s awesome!

I cried when I watched Joy Reid saying goodbye to her audience on Monday night, I have be following her career since 2004. When she was doing communications for the Kerry campaign. But anyway I want to know where does a progressive woman go to get there news honest news. Because I have stopped watching CNN a year ago. We have a dictator the Orange Felon who wants to rewrite history and he is trying to control every aspect of the free press and what we as Americans take in every day. So that is the reason digital media is important at this time.

This lifelong flaming liberal goes to Substack and YouTube. Meidas is my #1 go to for trusted information. I still do MSNBC, although their behavior in preparation for the sale is infuriating. CNN is just shy of being as ridiculous as FOX. I can't blame any legit journalist for going independant- honor demands it.

I did too it was heart-wrenching and I almost broke the TV. Oh so what do we do. There is an app called a Roku app. That allows you to buy and your own TV streaming service I guess I don't know. I've heard of it I don't really have time to deal with it but maybe some of you do.

MSNBC will never be watched in my house again. Can’t be trusted. Their recent actions make it clear they are both racist and untrustworthy. Byeeeee 👋 Long live independent media!

Agreed. At some point as enlightened and pissed off viewers turn from the legacy MSM networks, and those networks rely on a smaller audience for ratings and/or sponsors, does it occur to them they have sold themselves to the devil? Maggats don’t watch MSNBC regularly as they do “Faux Noise “ or other right wing echo chamber propaganda shows. So how is appeasement to the rapey orange tyrant (at 78 he isn’t long for this world) and his zombie followers going to make up the difference for losing a large portion of their viewers? And as the maggat zombie cult followers realize that their paychecks are stagnant, medicaid cut, insulin prices up, food shortages and costs up, goods and services rising in cost, will it dawn on them that news sources are lying to them? I don’t think this time next year will be a great time to live in America if you are poor, whatever side of the political spectrum we are.

MSNBC is doing their absolute best to be the absolute worst.. Maddow is great, but she can't fight trumpy alone. Odds are good MSNBC won't be around in 2026. Maddow can do a Meidas type substack and instantly be #1.....

MSM is DYING. The sad part is MSNBC committed SUICIDE by firing most of its minority on air staff.

I refuse to watch any cable news or even local news. It is not Journalism. It is sucking up to political liars for money. It’s all about the money, not about the truth.

What we are seeing is a repeat of former British prime minister Neville Chamberlain, who after meeting with Hitler, who had said, " We only want Poland," agreed to his demand to avoid another World War. Trying to placate would be tyrant only whets their appetite. If history has taught us anything, that is the one takeaway: we MUST NOT GIVE IN.

If both MSNBC and CNN know they're losing viewers by the boatloads because of their move toward appeasing Trump/MAGA why aren't they reversing course? They could get those viewers back simply by giving them what they want--which, in this current climate, is the honest truth about the damage the Trump regime is doing. Why won't they fight back?

Even if the owners support Trump, hoping he'll bring in money for them, the proof is in the pudding. They're losing because of Trump, not in spite of him.

The whole thing is baffling, but then I spend my days shaking my head over all of this anyway. So I guess I'm not surprised that it's making no sense to me.

It’s so blatantly obvious that MSNBC demoted and fired only non-white people. I’m furious about all the changes they’ve made! The changes won’t bring Trump supporters on as viewers and they’re losing viewers who relied on them for reporting the facts. Obeying in advance to a dictator only strengthens him. MSNBC has made the decision to become akin to state run media and can no longer be trusted. I, along with thousands of people, will go elsewhere for news. I’m really sad that some of their best people have been negatively affected by the changes. They’ve dug their own grave. Like the Republican Party, they sold their souls and threw away their integrity.

I don't get what is happening at MSNBC. The current owners want to sell the network but with all these firings and demotions, they won't be able to give it away. Also many of us progressives are desperate for media sources that promote the resistance and give a place for progressive political leaders to speak truth to power. There isn't any in traditional media anymore.

He only hires damaged goods: people with something compromising in their backgrounds. He can bully them, which he gets off on; and in the clinch, he can exploit them, or they risk exposure and more ridicule, if not worse damage to their "brands." They're all fools for getting so close to a tyrant. They just think "it will be different for me." Uh.. no. No it won't. They'll be thrown on the slag pile of history, like all the rest.

In a big FU to Rachel, MSNBC fired her staff. Line too far for her? If she can (contract?), I wish she would walk away. If not, make enough noise that they fire her.

I saw that. The reasoning seems to be that they were working for Alex Wagner, Maddow's replacement, and when she goes, they go. But Maddow has always shown extreme love and respect for her staff, so it'll be interesting to see how she reacts to this. I can't imagine she'll be silent.

My guess is that none of them want to 'reapply for new jobs'. That's as phony as the firing.
