We, protestors need leadership right now. Not 5-6 Dems/Ind doing their own thing. We need a MLK, JFK leader. Who is in the lead? It feels very bifurcated.
Since I expect others to address ICE, threatening foreign countries, and other highly visible issues I would like to raise two problems that affect all of us: climate and insurance. These are getting lost in the noise but are essential to our well being. Let's figure out how to get more people to address them please.
A significant problem which is not given enough exposure .... local law enforcement in cities are "helping" ICE agents. This makes it extra tough to combat / hold ICE accountable on a local level. It would be interesting to know the stats on percentage of local law enforcement who support the current regime. Traditionally law enforcement leans decidedly further Right. Seems local law enforcement is part of the problem. smh.
Tristan, I would like to know if We the People have legal standing to sue the Trump administration for the cruelty they are inflicting upon the American people.
Could we talk about which powers are separated/distributed between federal, state, and local governments?
I'm wondering out loud what tools state and local governments/prosecutors have to hold ICE and federal agents accountable for criminal activity. An overview of power separation could be helpful in figuring out which elected official to contact about which issue.
