Thanks for the information and answered questions. For seniors, remember that AARP is a powerful lobby. For that matter, so is the ACLU. Join and support those organizations that can help to speak for us.
" none of those predictions were correct! Neither was Y2K."
As someone who worked on the Y2K problem, I was appreciative of Heather Cox Richardson's post last week explaining how it really was, giving credit to a vast effort that met the deadline, so the normal folk think nothing happened...
Thanks for these Q&A sessions, I am so glad that my questions are being asked by others also. You answered one of my questions a few weeks ago, but other questions have helped me understand our options when the chaos erupts.
We have to remember that we had some victories on Nov. 5 - quite a few Democrats were elected or re-elected to various offices. We lost the White House but it wasn't a 100% loss. People who worked for months on get-out-the vote efforts did accomplish that. I keep telling people this because so many people are feeling very hopeless now and seem willing to give up - that's incredibly dangerous and it's what autocrats want us to do. BTW, Tristan, I have to point out that the reason Y2K wasn't a disaster is that computer engineers were very pro-active and dealt with it in advance.
Thank you. Are there any provisions in US law to stop the incoming administration from sending our military to Panama, Greenland or Mexico if Elon’s money doesn’t sway them? Rule changes in the legislature to require simple majority to pass legislation has me concerned not just about ourselves but our neighbors as well. Not that our laws have been overly effective in stopping what has been happening so far….

If the incoming administration threatens sovereign nations, can it be charged with war crimes?
US Code defines war crimes: https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/2441
