Who can bring charges of extortion against Musk for interfering with House votes? He's not a registered lobbyist or elected to anything. He even started out as an illegal immigrant. But he is chatty with Putin, gets most of his fortune from government contracts, and bought an election (likely skewed the tabulators, since he knew the winner 4 hours early), and has the same goal as Trump: stay out of jail and get richer.

I too love footnotes. One of the remarkable revelations of grading on to law review. 389 of them in my law review article. Not everyone understands this phenomenon…

Oh yeah... Making it great again. Just like 1798🙄

People are really going to regret THAT vote. We tried to tell them.

Who is supposed to enforce the 14th amendment regarding being disqualified for office? Is it the executive branch? Does it have to be violated first and then litigated? If a known insurrectionist takes office, does that mean that the previous president violated his oath (by not defending against domestic enemy or not upholding the Constitution)?

Both for "what can WE do" and "what about those that switch to Republican": Can you please examine https://bondsforthewin.com/ and help us understand what a surety bond is and whether it applies to members of Congress?

It’s clear we'll need more savvy legal strategists who understand the systems of government to strengthen the struggles ahead. (Love me a decent alliteration!) hahaha

Well Mr. Snell, I think you're also going to have to eat your Wheaties and "get enough coffee!" lol It's going to take a huge outpouring of energy, but the fight is imminent. I'm going to support the ACLU. They're not afraid of a legal brawl. I was disappointed in the Fani Willis development too. Yeah she took too much of a risk having that relationship, but she is right on the law and the merits. Will someone else step in to try the case?

Here to join in on the love of footnotes. That is all.

Would it be worthwhile to bring a case against Citizens United to the supreme court based on Musks obscene sabotage of our government functions?

Tristan, i appreciate your writings… greatly. as “democracy” from Greek means ‘of the people’ yet ‘of the money’ or capitalocracy is the prevalent mode, how do those of us in “lower and poverty” income get acknowledged as actual members with inherent equality? VP Harris ran on the middle class framework; while Gov Walz’s state program to feed all schoolchildren was a slight nod, many people just didn’t have reason to vote (along with the ‘hey we gotta support war crimes against Palestinians’). i understand this is underpinned by white men with property are the voters foundation, that amendments to the constitution have granted some equality - tho not for females - and with the statements by incoming administration to “terminate the Constitution “ 🤯, hair on fire indeed. i hope these ongoing efforts to make a more perfect union Can happen, tho muskrat’s ruling Congress by social media seems to be the end. thx tho, i hope for my grandchildren’s future.
